We spoke to Dawn Shooter who told us she’s never felt better since embarking on a juicing and healthy eating month throughout January…

How did you get into juicing?

I got into juicing through a student who works for me at the University of Sheffield. I researched juicers for about 3 months before I decided that Jason’s was the one for me. My juicer came the week before Christmas, and I couldn’t wait to start.

What programme did you follow?

I made myself a juice every morning for the 2 weeks leading to New Years Day (usually fruit based). In between I would read the book cover to cover before properly starting the 7 lb in 7 days plan.

I weighed myself that morning at 11 stone 12 lbs.

I found the juices very tasty and filling, the only thing that got to me was not having anything to chew or bite into, (this was only at dinner time, as this was the time the family sat together). By the 4th day I had a salad in place of a smoothie, but to my disappointment it didn’t do anything for me and I missed my juice. Day 6 I had a homemade tomato soup with a large handful of spinach in the bottom of the dish (this was a delicious hot change).

I am the type person who will stick to something if I have set my mind to it – and I wasn’t going to give up on the juicing. However, I won’t lie and say I found it easy (maybe it was the most difficult month to start a detox after filling your body with so much junk food and alcohol throughout the Christmas period). I did pace the floor at around 6pm for a little while for a few days, and picking up the book did help on many occasion. But you have to be 100% certain this is what you want to do, or I think you would fail. I also think WHEN I do it again, I’m sure it will be easier because I know what points to look for in advance and stop it.

After my 7 days I got back onto the scales and was amazed to have lost 8lbs!!! I’m now 11 stone 4lbs… I was buzzing… and I wanted to carry on.

I had read the Turbo Charge Your Life in 14 days book of Jason’s, so I decided to give it a go. To which I continued for the whole MONTH of January, along with my no alcohol for the same month.

I made enough juice for breakfast and lunch whilst at work, then had a healthy option of good food for dinner. I never ate man made carbs, including potatoes, pasta, bread or rice.

By the end of the month I lost another 8lbs, leaving me at 10 stone 10lbs… I intend to carry on with 2 juices a day, I WILL eat a sensible lunch if I feel the need. I have gone out to restaurants, but try and have the healthy option (fish is always good).

Juicing now plays a massive part in my life, I can’t see me going back to my old ways, but if I slip up occasionally, I’m confident I will get back into this way quiet easily again.

Would you recommend juicing to anyone else?

Please, Please, Please… if you are reading this and have read other peoples juicing stories then you are well on your way to beating your bad eating habits already. It’s not easy on your mind at times, but Jason’s book will help you get your mind in the right place (make sure you read it ALL). The juices are FABULOUS, TASTY, AND MIGHTY GOOD FOR YOU. I love Jason’s green smoothies/juices best, I add whatever vegetables I have in to my juice along with apples and pineapple, some days the colour of them are awful, but really tasty!

What are your results

People have commented on how healthy my skin looks, I feel more alive, full of energy, my stomach is getting flatter by the day, I’ve lost a couple of inches from my whole body, I’m in dresses I have not worn for 10 years (I couldn’t throw all of them away) and I never feel bloated… why would I want to go back to my old ways?
