Procrastination is one of the biggest obstacles to having the life we want, and for Jenny Thomas the decision to finally listen to Jason Vale’s Stop Smoking in 2 Hours app was the catalyst for change. Having downloaded the app six months previously, Jenny was desperate to quit the habit and in February 2014 finally committed a mere 120 minutes to breaking her addiction for good.
“Jason’s app was the catalyst for change and I would never have gone to Juicy Oasis without it”
“It only took a couple of hours and, like so many things, once I’d done it I couldn’t believe how easy it was,” says Jenny. “That was it, I had jumped on my path to freedom. I didn’t realise at the time just how much would change, following that day.”
Freed from addiction, a few weeks later Jenny experienced a setback when she tore her calf muscle playing netball.
“It might seem hard to believe but this was catastrophic to me. I have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), so eating healthily and exercising play a massive part in managing the condition. Unable to exercise, I gained nearly a stone in weight.
Best foot forward
“A friend suggested a visit to Juicy Oasis and I decided to book a stay. The first few days, my body and mind went into a state of shock. Apart from netball, I hadn’t done any real exercise in years and my lungs were those of a 30-40-a-day smoker, so I found the exercise pretty tough but also really good fun and it helped me work out some of my frustrations. I noticed the difference that the pure nutritious goodness of juice had on my body too.” Along with the physical effects of the Juicy Oasis programme, Jenny felt a shift in mindset during her retreat.
“I’m not sure if it was one moment or lots of things coming together but I had the realisation that my life was not what I wanted it to be and I was really unhappy,” continues Jenny. “It was hard as I’d had a successful marketing career over 20 years and held a senior position in a global company. I knew I needed to get off the treadmill, take back control of my life and start living the life that I wanted.
“If you’ve never experienced a week-long juicing detox it might sound strange, but I hit a ‘juicy high’. I have honestly never felt so energised, alive, positive and unstoppable. After one amazing walk, I started thinking about what I could do to build the life I wanted, and it was definitely one with juice in it! I started to focus on what makes me happy – work that is rewarding and fulfilling; listening, understanding and helping people to make their dreams become reality.”
It took a while to make the transition but Juicy Oasis was the best thing I could ever have done for my body and mind – it changed everything for me.”
Having launched Revitalise Coaching, Jenny is about to celebrate her first year as a confidence and career coach. “I took out a year to train and qualified as a NLP practitioner and personal-performance coach. Jason’s app was the catalyst for change and I would never have gone to Juicy Oasis without it. Earlier this year I walked the Jurassic Coast for Macmillan Cancer Support and I’m going to walk up Mount Snowdon in a few weeks. I’m finally living the life I want.”
